Acworth is in the foothills of northern Georgia and is the setting for pretty Cedar Crest Village, a 55+ community with attached homes inspired by English cottage design. The Village is across the street from Bentwater Golf Course, and two lakes are nearby.

Lawns are dotted with pines and crape myrtles, and streets are quiet. Amenities inlcude a bevy of social clubs, everything from darts to line dancing.
Hendersonville is in lush western North Carolina and is the site of Riverwind, a picturesque 55+ manufactured home community with tree lined lanes and homes that look site built. Amenities include two clubhouses, a swimming pool and RV parking. Pets and golf carts are welcome.

What are the Benefits of a 55+ Development?
Developments designed for the 55+ crowd offer a lot of benefits. The main ones may be security, plenty of recreation opportunities and a sense of community with people of similar backgrounds, but the benefits do not end there. Nearly all 55+ single family home communities, particularly newer ones, have single story homes (condos always have elevators). No more having to go up and down stairs all day long. Many have home owners' associations that take care of the exterior maintenance, including mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow. Others have rental programs so that if you decide to go on vacation for six months, the association will find a qualified renter for you. There are even communities that will, for a monthly fee, provide meals, housekeeping and 24/7 emergency services.
