About 30 miles south of Tucson in southern Arizona, Green Valley is the setting for Robson Communities' gated 55+ development named Quail Creek. Construction began in 1991 and continues today. At build out, the community should have 4,000 attached homes and single family homes.
Properties come in more than a dozen single level floor plans and have from 1,286 to 2,695 square feet of living space. The Tradition Home Series and the Premier Series offer two to three bedrooms as well as a den option. A home in the Estate Series could have three bedrooms, a backyard casita and a solar system. Every property has a two car or three car garage. The architecture is Mediterranean, and yards feature Xeriscaping. Golf course views and mountain vistas are common.
Prices begin in the high-$300,000s and the HOA is $240 semi-annually. Please verify these prices with Robson or a Realtor.
The Madera Clubhouse has a stage which hosts touring professionals and talented residents, and the Creative Arts and Technology Center provides workshop space for lapidary, ceramics, and computers. The Anza Athletic Club has studios for aerobics and yoga and is surrounded by swimming pools and courts for bocce ball, tennis, or pickleball.
The Quail Creek Country Club manages 27 holes of golf and boasts a styish grill.
Quail Creek has a roving security patrol, a conference center, RV parking, and fishing lakes. More than 100 clubs for birders, cloggers, hikers and performers are popular and active.
The community is just east of I-19 so residents have easy access to retail and dining. The nearby Madera Canyon is a riparian oasis and home to 15 species of hummingbirds. Old Tucson Studios, Mission San Xavier de Bac, and the Tumacacori National Park are other local attractions.
Green Valley Hosptial is accredited by DNV Healthcare.

Arizona:
On February 14, 1912, Arizona became the 48th state to join the Union. In the southwestern region of the United States, it borders New Mexico to the east, Utah to the north, Nevada and California to the west and Mexico to the south. The Cactus Wren is the state's bird, and the Saguaro Blossom is the state flower. The capital and largest city is Phoenix.
Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon, one of the nation's oldest national parks, and the Hoover Dam. It covers 113,000 square miles, making it the nation's 6th largest state. However, only a small portion of the land, about 15%, is privately owned. The rest of Arizona belongs to national parks, state parks and Native American reservations.
Interestingly, the majority of Arizonans - everyone except those in the Navajo Nation - do not observe Daylight Savings Time.
Why Choose a 55+ Community?
Most people who choose to live in a 55+ development are looking for a sense of community with other people of similar backgrounds. Many of these developments are gated and guarded, adding to a sense of security. Often the homes are low maintenance or "lock and leave," giving owners the freedom to do things other than mow the lawn, shovel the snow or replace the roof. The biggest draw is often the amenities, ranging from lavish clubhouses to activity directors and championship golf courses, making some developments akin to country club living (or summer camp for adults). While 55+ communities are not for everyone, they continue to be a popular choice for many people.
