Quiet All Ages Town Home Community of Millhaven Landing in Central North Carolina Boasts Single Floor Living and Plenty of Green Spaces

Millhaven Landing lies in the heart of Winston-Salem and North Carolina's pastoral center, also known as the Piedmont region. Although this planned community is not age restricted, many of its features appeal to retirees and older active adults. Planned and developed by Epcon Communities, Milhaven Landing is a maintenance free neighborhood. Residents go about their daily lives while a professional property management company takes care of driveways, streets, garbage removal, snow removal, lawn mowing, fertilizing, and weed control. Single-level, no-step living is also part of the community's scheme.

Construction began in 2005 and continues today. At buildout, there will be 124 attached residences. The building design clusters four town homes together with communal green space. That way no resident is left in the middle. Two floor plans are available. Both plans have sunrooms and two car garages. The 1,570-square-foot Abbey has two bedrooms, two baths, and a large storage area. The 1,775-square-foot Canterbury has a private patio and a den that can be converted into a third bedroom. Each plan has room for customizations such as a gourmet kitchen or a breakfast bar. Prices begin in the high-$200,000s and top out in the mid-$400,000s. Please verify these prices with a Realtor as they may change.

Although Millhaven Landing is not gated, three acres of open space, inner loop sidewalks, and bright street lights give the community a tight-knit atmosphere and a sense of security. The clubhouse has a fitness center, a multipurpose room, and a catering kitchen. Residents also enjoy a putting green, a heated outdoor pool and a barbecue area perfect for neighborhood gatherings. A full-time activities director helps coordinate an active schedule of classes, game nights, movie days, yard sales, card parties, and excursions.

Homeowners have easy access to all of Winston-Salem's amenities. Known as the "City of Arts and Innovation," the city has two regional hospitals, six institutions of higher learning, a symphony, a ballet company, countless museums, 74 parks, and 23 miles of greenway. There are more than 40 wineries, distilleries, and breweries in the area. The RiverRun International Film Festival, the Piedmont Craftsmen's Fair, and the Twin City Ribfest are among the city's annual events.

This area has hot, humid summers with temperatures in 80s and 90s. Winters have temperatures in 30s, 40s and 50s. On average, the city receives 46 inches of rain per year.
