About 15 miles from Lake Ray Roberts and an hour north of Dallas/Fort Worth, Aubrey is the site of Isabella Village. Built by Nathan Carlisle Homes from 2011 to 2018, this cozy 55+ neighborhood is part of the 575-acre master-planned community of Savannah and has 180 single family homes.
Seven floor plans range in size from 1,212 to 2,465 square feet. Constructed with energy-efficient materials, these eco-friendly homes have two to three bedrooms, two baths, and a two-car garage. Entries have ceramic tile, and most master bathrooms come with garden tubs and dual vanities. The kitchens sparkle with granite and custom oak countertops. Exteriors are red or tan brick with light colored trim and a pitched roof, giving the community a uniform appearance.
Current prices begin in the low-$400,000s, but homes come up in the $200,000s and $300,000s, too. The HOA fee is $151 per month. Please verify this with a Realtor as prices may change.
Residents have access to all the amenities in the larger Savannah community. These include an ample clubhouse with a ballroom, library, cafe, catering kitchen, and conference room. The three-story fitness center has a weight room, saunas, cardio equipment, and a craft room. Outside, there is a pool and water park. Sports courts, walking trails, fishing lakes and dog parks are sprinkled within community boundaries.
Savannah homeowners also enjoy a private clubhouse with an outdoor pool, patio, bocce ball court, and horseshoe pit. Club Isabella also houses a kitchen and an aerobics studio. Groups meet for yoga, zumba, book club, or Wii bowling.
The burgeoning town of Aubrey is minutes from restaurants, retail, and the event center in McKinney. The nearby Myers Park has a perennial garden, wooded trail, amphitheater, and farm museum. Lewisville Lake Park has golf courses, a fishing barge, boat ramps, swim areas, as well as tent and RV camp sitesunderway.
Aubrey does not have a hospital, but North Texas Hospital is just 10 miles away in Denton and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Texas:
Two Spanish explorers in the 16th and 17th centuries were the first Europeans to visit this area and settled near El Paso in 1682. A French colony also existed for a time at Matagorda Bay. Americans started to settle at the edge of the Brazos River in 1821. Mexico, recently independent from Spain, controlled Texas at this time.
The American settlers eventually rebelled against Mexico and fought for their independence in the Texas Revolution (1835 to 1836). Legendary battles included San Jacinto and the Alamo. The U.S. annexed Texas in 1845, and the Mexican-American War began in 1846 as Mexico fought to keep Texas.
The U.S. captured Mexico City in 1848 and ended the war. The subsequent Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo not only kept Texas in the U.S. but gave the Americans ownership of California, half of New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, Utah and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. Texas has been a part of the U.S. ever since.
The Lone Star State is the second biggest in the country in size, after Alaska, and it leads every other state in the production of cattle, sheep, oil, as well as cotton. Geography ranges from arid, flat plains in the west to the thick piney woods in the east.
Texas also boasts 100 state parks, the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, the Alamo and Big Bend Mountains National Park. In September, 2017, one of its major cities, Houston, received 51 inches of rain during Hurricane Irma.
What are the Benefits of a 55+ Development?
Developments designed for the 55+ crowd offer a lot of benefits. The main ones are security, plenty of recreation opportunities and a sense of community with people of similar backgrounds, but the benefits do not end there. Nearly all 55+ single family home communities, particularly newer ones, have single story homes, whether single family homes, town homes or condominiums. No more having to go up and down stairs all day long. Many have a homeowners' association that take care of the exterior maintenance, including mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow. Others have rental programs so that if you decide to go on vacation for six months, the association will find a qualified renter for you. There are even communities that will, for a monthly fee, provide meals, housekeeping and 24/7 emergency services.
